Overview

Overview

When I opened the Asset Page for the first time, it felt like reading a book with no chapters. Everything was there every field, every action but no structure. People weren’t just lost in the interface; they were losing trust in it. That’s where the redesign began not to make it prettier, but to make it make sense.

The Problem

The Problem

In my first few user calls, I heard the same story.

They’d say, “I scroll up and down just to find one field/ section,” or “We just email each other for collaboration, it feels easier.”

The page technically supported field-level comments and history tracking, but hardly anyone used them. Collaboration had drifted out of the product and into inboxes. That’s when I realized the problem wasn’t missing features it was invisible ones.

My Role & Approach

My Role & Approach

Before touching pixels, I watched how people moved through the page what they searched for first, what they skipped, and where they hesitated. It became obvious: people think in sections, not tabs.

So I reshaped the layout around that idea.

  • Grouped related information by intent, not by database logic.

  • Pulled comments, amendments, and milestones into view, right where work happens.

  • Reduced clutter with role-based actions one clear Primary action button instead of multiple buttons.

  • Rebuilt everything using the Dlt Design System, keeping it fast, modular, and consistent.

It stopped feeling like a spreadsheet and started feeling like a workspace.

Milestone tracker

Comment directly on assets, tag teammates, and close feedback loops instantly. Every discussion stays tied to its context. Collaboration just got a lot simpler.

The clarity

The clarity

After the redesign, something changed quietly people started using the comments. They could discuss directly on fields, track amendments, and close loops without opening Outlook. The new hierarchy made scanning easy; the product finally matched how users thought.

The impact

The impact

  • Comment engagement increased by 35% within two weeks after launch.

  • Email dependency dropped users began using comment feature.

  • 45% faster navigation to key details.

  • The operations team described it as “finally feeling like one place to get work done.”

Small shifts in visibility turned into big behavioral change.

Reflection

Reflection

This project reminded me that clarity isn’t about clean layouts it’s about trust. When design removes friction, people naturally come back to the product. Sometimes, progress doesn’t look loud it just feels calm.

Here’s to simple things
done thoughtfully.
